Are you planning an event, wedding, or special occasion? The Wilderness Chef brings culinary excellence and creativity to your table, ensuring that every bite is an experience in itself.

Whether it’s an intimate dinner for 2, or a large wedding or corporate event for 250, our expert team is equipped to provide incredible service and restaurant-quality food for you and your guests, no matter the size of the event!

The Wilderness Chef team can cater your wedding, workshop, feast, elopement, engagement, private dining experience or weekend away for any number of guests. 

We believe everyone should be able to enjoy the food they love so we tailor our service to your event. All menu’s are aligned to your taste, event, dietary requirements & budget.

Choose from customisable packages such as wilderness feasts, canapé packages, banquet share plates, intimate degustations, alternate drop dining as well as packaged meals, platters & more.

We will cater any occasion, in some of the most insane natural locations available.

Mothers Day Long Lunch at Winmark Wines

Treat Mum to a superb lunch amongst the vines at Winmark Wines.

Treat your food and wine loving mum to the ultimate Mother’s Day lunch on Sunday 12th May.

Gather the family and experience the exceptional Winmark wines and hospitality in a superb setting against the backdrop of Yellow Rock Mountain on the terrace overlooking Winmark’s historic and picturesque vineyard.

With a glass of Chardonnay on arrival, and three courses superbly matched with three estate-grown, award-winning Chardonnays, this is truly a lunch not to be missed at the Hunter Valley’s Cellar Door of the Year.

But book early as seats are extremely limited.

Cost: $155 per person including 3 course lunch and 4 matching wines.

The Wilderness Chef is a team of talented chefs & professional hospitality workers who create unique and exclusive, restaurant quality dining experiences in amazing locations like incredible venues, amazing natural surroundings & everything in between. Think out of the box! We can create an amazing feast to help you celebrate in a unique way.

We are based in Newcastle & The Hunter, and cater at a huge number of local venues, however we also love to travel.

We have already catered on mountain tops, amongst sand dunes and in remote forests. We’ve catered on the summit of Mt Hotham in the middle of Winter, The Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Tasmania, remote Western Australia, far North Queensland and even New Zealand. We can’t wait to explore more places with you!

Our food philosophy is simple. Creating incredible food, designed to be enjoyed amongst family & friends in the most sustainable way possible.

At The Wilderness Chef we believe in living life in the most sustainable manner, for the environment, for ourselves, and for those around us. 

Sustainability is a core value in our catering operation, and we are committed to minimising our environmental impact. We prioritise sourcing local and seasonal produce, supporting local farmers and reducing carbon emissions associated with transportation. Our current practices include partnering with local suppliers who share our commitment to sustainable farming and ethical sourcing.

We are continually exploring new ways to integrate sustainability into our operations such as implementing composting programs and our utilisation of eco-friendly packaging options.

 
 
 
 
 
The Wilderness Chef catered our recent wedding and we can not thank them enough for the most amazing meal! One thing that was high on our list of non negotiables was delicious food (because everyone always talks about the food) and boy did Wilderness Chef deliver! Everything we picked from their menu was delicious, and there was also ample food for everyone. The team were so professional and caring towards every guest and the attention to detail to guest dietary requirements was impeccable. Our guests have not stopped raving about the food, so if you are thinking of booking these guys for your food, do it now!
