Storybook Moments: Jade & Zach’s Moody Forest Elopement

Photography by the talented Olivia Rose Photography

There are weddings that feel magical from the very first moment, and Jade and Zach’s was one of them. Set beneath the towering pines at The Firs Picnic Area in Barrington Tops Forest, their day unfolded with an intimacy and beauty that could have been lifted straight from the pages of a storybook. With just sixteen of their closest people gathered around, the atmosphere was quiet, moody, and deeply romantic.

When the rain began to fall at the end of their ceremony, Jade and Zach did not hide from it. They leaned into the moment, umbrellas in hand, and let the showers become part of their story. They danced in the rain, laughed as the drops ran down their cheeks, and posed for photos that captured both the wildness of the weather and the depth of their joy.

What could have been a challenge became something unforgettable, a reminder that love is not about perfect conditions but about embracing the beauty of the present.

In their interview with Polka Dot Weddings, Jade and Zach reflected on how a small-scale elopement gave them the freedom to be fully themselves. Their day was not bound by expectations but instead felt true and representative of who they are as a couple. That honesty and simplicity created a celebration that was unapologetically theirs, and it was felt in every detail.

We were honoured to play a small part in their story. Guests were welcomed with canapés before sitting down to a shared banquet, with the evening finishing on a sweet note of a dessert grazing platter and their wedding cake. The food, the forest, and the atmosphere wove together in a way that felt effortless and full of heart.

To Jade and Zach, we wish you every happiness as you step into this next chapter. Thank you for letting us share in such a remarkable celebration of love, one that will stay with us for years to come.
