Corporate Catering Newcastle: A Community Event That Brought People Together

We had the pleasure of catering Waterford’s community event, an evening designed to bring people together at the very beginning of something new.

The purpose of the event was simple but meaningful, to connect new residents who had recently purchased land in the development. It gave everyone the chance to meet, share a meal and begin building a sense of community from the very start.

Set under the stars, the space was arranged with two long tables that naturally encouraged connection. There’s something about this style of setup that instantly brings people closer, creating an environment where conversations flow easily and everyone feels part of the same experience.

We catered for 122 adults and 21 children, serving a generous buffet that allowed guests to move at their own pace and enjoy the evening in a relaxed and unstructured way.

MENU

Main Shared Proteins:

Lebanese Charred Chicken, pickled onions, chives & buttermilk ranch

Braised Beef Cheek, jus, thyme, radish & sourdough pangritata

Main Shared Sides:

Layered Potato Gratin, creamed leek, marjoram, parmesan & crispy onions

Dutch Carrots, roasted eshallot, tahini, shallots & spiced almonds

Spiced Black & Green Bean Salad, charred corn, za'atar, mint & sumac seeds

Banquet Dessert Grazing:

Belgian Chocolate Brownie, Cinnamon Spiced Ricotta Cannoli, Lemon Cheesecake Tarts

A buffet-style menu was the perfect choice for an event like this. It gave guests the freedom to build their own plates, return for more and interact with one another as they moved through the space.

It’s a style of dining that feels approachable and inclusive, and for a community event, that makes all the difference. It removes formality and replaces it with ease, which is exactly what you want when people are meeting for the first time.

As the evening unfolded, there was a real sense of warmth throughout the space. People were laughing, chatting and genuinely enjoying each other’s company.

Moments like this are always special to be part of. Watching connections form over a shared meal, seeing people settle in and feel comfortable, and knowing that the food plays a small part in bringing it all together.

Events like this set the tone for what’s to come. It’s more than just a meal, it’s the beginning of relationships, friendships and a sense of belonging.

We’re so grateful to have been part of this evening and to help bring everyone together in such a meaningful way.
