On the 11th of April 2026, we had the pleasure of catering Kristy and Jack’s beautiful wedding at the stunning McGuigan House in the Hunter Valley.

With clear skies, warm weather and the beautiful gardens surrounding the property, the day created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed yet elegant celebration with their closest friends and family.

A relaxed and connected celebration

Kristy and Jack created a wedding that felt warm, welcoming and incredibly connected from beginning to end. With 81 guests gathered together, the atmosphere throughout the day felt effortless, filled with conversation, laughter and people genuinely enjoying each other’s company.

Long tables were set within the marquee, perfectly complementing the style of celebration they wanted to create. This layout naturally brought guests together and worked beautifully alongside their banquet dining experience.

We began our service with a selection of three roaming canapés while guests mingled throughout the beautiful gardens of McGuigan House.

Cocktail hour is always such an important part of the day, allowing guests to settle in, enjoy a drink and soak up the atmosphere before moving into the evening celebrations. The combination of clear skies, beautiful surroundings and relaxed conversation made for a truly special start to the reception.

Following canapés, guests made their way into the marquee for the evening feast.

Kristy and Jack chose banquet dining for their wedding, beginning with a banquet entrée before moving into a generous and abundant banquet main course shared down the centre of the tables.

This style of dining was the perfect fit for the atmosphere they created. Banquet service encourages connection and interaction, with guests passing dishes, building their ideal plates and sharing the experience together. It creates a sense of warmth and familiarity that works beautifully for weddings centred around family, friends and togetherness.

Wedding catering at McGuigan House

McGuigan House continues to be one of the Hunter Valley’s most stunning wedding venues and one we love catering at. Between the gardens, marquee and beautiful surroundings, it creates an incredible backdrop for couples wanting a wedding that feels both elegant and relaxed.

For caterers, the venue lends itself perfectly to shared dining experiences and long-table celebrations, allowing the atmosphere of the space to really come to life throughout the evening.
